Most of the country is hospitable and relatively warm. New Yawkahs come off very crass, rude, and arrogant to non-NYers, especially over the phone. They’re like this in person as well, but that’s just the way they are. They don’t consider it as being rude or impolite, but just the way business is done. They’re like that to eachother as well.
If you’re going to deal with them on a routine basis, just make a mental adjustment that it comes with the territory and grow some thicker skin when dealing with them.
